Directions and Race Information
Pre-Run Check-in/Registration- September 29th, 2023*
Gloster Public Library- 229 E Main St, Gloster, MS 39638
The community run/walk/bike will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the library before check-in/registration.
*On-site race day check-in and registration will be available before races begin at 8:00 AM, Saturday, September 30th. We highly encourage you to take advantage of the pre-run check-in/registration on September 29th!
Start and Finish Location
Location Address: Clear Springs Recreation Area, Roxie, MS
Driving Directions based on the USFS website: Clear Springs is 4 miles south of US Hwy 84. It is 35 miles west of Brookhaven and 32 miles east of Natchez. It is 5 miles west of Meadville on Hwy. 84; turn south on Clear Springs Road (County Road 104), go 4 miles to the recreation area entrance.
Parking may be limited, so please plan to drive yourself or carpool!
A shuttle bus* will also be offered in Gloster at the US Army National Guard, departing at 6:30 a.m. and returning back at 3:00 p.m.
*Masks are optional on the shuttle bus but encouraged for the health and safety of other passengers.
Lodging and Camping
Camping is allowed in the Clear Springs Campground, but is limited.
Brushy Creek Ranch is a nearby campground with both tent and cabin camping available.
McComb, Mississippi is the closest town with ample hotel options available. We do not have any special arrangements with specific hotels.
Course Markings
All courses will be well-marked with flagging and signed so runners will stay on route. Sections will be flagged the day before with reusable materials. Course markings for race distances will be the same, but signage will be in different colors and placed clearly so runners can direct themselves. Special signage will be posted at road crossings for runner safety and vehicle awareness.
Runners should review their respective course maps to be familiar with the route.
Aid Station Food/ Post-Run Food
Aid stations (Halford Rd and Richardson Creek Trail) will be supplied with water, electrolytes, fruit, chips, energy gels. We encourage people to bring their own reusable flasks or cups for water and electrolyte refills to make this a minimal waste event!
We are lucky to have the support of Real Athlete Diets for event catering! Food will be free for participants and ingredients will be sourced from local farms and markets.
